My inquiry this year is based on Writing through Te Whare Rama professional development facilitated by the North Shore RTLB cluster. Tracking my writing radar students will be through this inquiry rather than as a separate radar document.
Within this there are four aspects to explore that are areas of interest to me.
Key Competencies: From the work I did with the skateboard project last year, (SENCO) the key competencies integral to a students achievement. Defined by the ministry:
Key competencies are the capabilities people have, and need to develop, to live and learn today and in the future.
Student Voice: refers to the values, opinions, beliefs, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds of individual students and groups of students in a school, and to instructional approaches and techniques that are based on student choices, interests, passions, and ambitions.
Student Agency: Student agency refers to the level of control, autonomy, and power that a student experiences in an educational situation. Student agency can be manifested in the choice of learning environment, subject matter, approach, and/or pace.
Active creators of Content: How digital learning enables the development of the key competencies, student voice and student agency.
